From Concept to Reality – How We Designed, Engineered and Manufactured Swap-E - In House

At LA Design, we don't just help clients develop products, we also put our own expertise to the test.

Swap-E is a E-Bike 36v battery adaptor,  conceived, designed, engineered and manufactured entirely in-house, showcasing the complete product development capabilities available to our clients.

From the initial concept through industrial design, mechanical engineering, rapid prototyping and production, every stage of the development process was undertaken by our own team.

  • 10+ prototype iterations

For Swap-E, our aim was to create a product that combined innovative design with practical engineering, while ensuring it could be manufactured efficiently and reliably.

In-House Prototyping Accelerates Development

 

One of LA Design's key strengths is our in-house rapid prototyping capability.Using professional 3D printing equipment, we were able to quickly evaluate design ideas, test component fit, assess ergonomics and validate assemblies before committing to production tooling.

 

This rapid iteration significantly reduced development time while allowing continuous refinement throughout the project.Rather than waiting days or weeks for external prototypes, design improvements could often be implemented, printed and evaluated within hours.

The result is a faster, more efficient product development process that benefits both our own projects and those of our clients.
