BRAND IDENTITY

A successful brand

means repeat business

ABOUT

Your brand is what other people think about you and we believe that developing a brand through product design is the most cost effective way to clearly communicate who you are and where you are going. This can be augmented by a well-managed range identity programme that engages customers through consistent user experiences.

Brand & range identity is something that works both inside and outside of a company and needs to be fully understood, absorbed and agreed before it can be properly expressed

Brand definition

Using a number of different techniques, we work with our clients to define a list of company and product values with beliefs that are honest, consistent and meaningful. Brand & range identity is something that works both inside and outside of a company and needs to be fully understood, absorbed and agreed before it can be properly expressed.

Brand expression

We express brand values through products and the way people experience them. This can take many forms but should take into account different levels of engagement and perception, from initial point of sale through to long term use and even disposal.

These touch points are analysed and the relevant product characteristics developed to match brand requirements that clearly position the final result. We are highly experienced in the use of form, colour, graphics, materials and finishes but successful brand expression also needs to take into account tactile considerations, emotional responses and patterns of use. We increasingly get involved in providing the whole product story. Our expertise covers; user interface design, packaging design, exhibition panels, user manuals and product launch videos.

Product range identity

LA has an enviable record of long term working relationships with our clients, leading to numerous range identity programmes to coordinate past, existing and future products through brand or sub brand expression. Creation of guidelines for key characteristics and design language can dramatically reduce duplication of effort and amplify the brand message, particularly beneficial when products are designed or manufactured in different locations.

Logo design

Although brand encompasses much more than the product logo, many product logos are designed for print and don’t translate well for product use. LA has many years of knowledge and experience in this area and can advise on manufacturing processes as well as designing the logo to express and reinforce the brand.
