LA Design supports industrial design of PerkinElmer’s new Spotlight Aurora™ IR Microscope
Our role focused on developing the external design language and enclosure system for the instrument, ensuring that the form, layout and materials support practical operation in laboratory environments. This included designing moulded covers and sheet-metal components for efficient manufacture, and accommodating considerations such as thermal management, EMC requirements and chemical compatibility.

Spotlight Aurora™ Infrared (IR) Microscope.
The instrument brings together advanced IR imaging capabilities and an updated user experience for research and analytical laboratories.
All scientific, analytical and technical functionality of the Aurora Spotlight system is designed and engineered by PerkinElmer’s internal teams. Our contribution centred solely on the industrial design and design-for-manufacture of the external enclosure.
We are proud to have supported PerkinElmer in bringing this sophisticated instrument to market and congratulate their teams on the successful release.
